Our history starts in Northeastern Greece and in particular in the small city of Komotini, where people faithfull to traditions started to produce and bottle ouzo in rudimentary facilities. For years, the following generations continued the production in family distilleries supplying the entire region with extra quality products.

1977: Far-sighted business aspirations made 17 small distillers to associate and created the DISTILLERY- WINERY OF THRACE S.A., located in the city of Komotini, using the facilities of a small distillery.

1982: The increasing demand for products results in the construction of the company’s current plant located in the industrial zone. The production process is modernized and the first distribution network is set up.

1983: The recognition of our products in the region of Thrace leads us to take the following step, thus setting up a branch office in Thessaloniki and expanding our market beyond the restricted limits of the region.

1984: For the first time, the Thracian ouzo crosses the Greek borders. The first bottles find their place on the shelves of German stores.

1989: The company begins the production of private label products for retail chains in Europe.

1996: Installation of specialized technological equipment is completed and the production of Vodka begins, expanding the range of our products.

1999: The Distillery-Winery of Thrace S.A. expands its production activity to Distillates and Spirits. The production of Tsipouro (grape marc) starts.

2001: Following the modern requirements, the Winery – Distillery of Thrace gets certified by ISO 9001:2000.

2005: Winery – Distillery of Thrace gets certified by HACCP(Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and IFS (International Food Standards – higher level).

2011: Winery – Distillery of Thrace, releases Ouzo 7 Gold to the market, creating a new category of premium products.

2012: The first bottles of «Εωθινών Παλαιωμένο» (Aged Eothinon) are placed on the shelves; the aged tsipouro of the company is produced in a strictly limited number of bottles.

2014: The company expands its product range with the production of high quality Gin. Gin «Juniper» is ready to enter the market.
