through the tribute to ouzo that the popular show EUROMAXX aired on the TV channel of international news broadcaster Deutsche Welle

On the occasion of the annual “OUZO FEST 2018” organized on the island of Lesvos on July 6-9, the satellite TV channel of Deutsche Welle (DW) devoted an extensive reportage to Plomari, Mytilini, within the framework of its special tribute to ouzo.

The popular EUROMAXX show, which airs six days a week in English, German, Spanish, and Arabic, began its on-location shooting at the two, fascinating ouzo museums in Plomari. Shooting continued with the distilleries around the island also focusing on the ingredients of ouzo and the way it’s produced. Special mention was made to the appetizers that go hand-in-hand with ouzo, the island’s beauties, and the hospitable nature of the island’s residents.

The website tsou.gr (all about ouzo) and Haris Vekris, its creator, were invited by the show to contribute their might, playing a leading part in front as well as behind the camera and becoming instrumental in the show’s planning and implementation stages. DW’s tribute is anticipated to play an all-important role in promoting our national drink abroad, showcasing at the same time the gorgeous sights to be enjoyed around the island of Lesvos. The world premiere for the ouzo tribute on EUROMAXX was released by Deutsch Welle on July 12, was pinned for airing among the week’s highlights, and was broadcast again as a segment of the EUROMAXX Sunday Edition.
