On October 6-8, for the fifth consecutive year, the Syros Jazz Festival took place at the historical Apollon Theater (1864). It was the second year during which, the festival, apart from being inundated by a steady stream of visitors, was flooded with the aroma of anise! For yet another year, tsou.gr successfully contributed to marrying ouzo to events which not only help to widen its consumer base but also revamp its image.

In cooperation with the Distillery-Winery Thrace S.A., during the intervals between the concerts of each night, the audience was treated to the labels OUZO 7 and OUZO 7 GOLD PREMIUM on the Apollon Theater’s gorgeous grounds. The island’s jazz and other fans had a chance to enjoy not only two superb distillates but also to familiarize themselves with the Komotini distillery and learn all they needed to know about the company’s sales points. As always, the presence of PREKAS-Traditional Syros Products proved a decisive one: as the Syros representative of the Distillery-Winery Thrace S.A., Prekas made sure that our ouzo shots were drunk in the company of tantalizing appetizers.

The bands participating in this year’s Syros Jazz Festival were, in order of appearance, the following: Giorgos Psychogios-Dimitris Papadopoulos; Ioannou/Vafeas Quartet (Cyprus); CMS Quarter and Lada Obradovic Project (Switzerland-Austria-Slovenia-France-Croatia); and Suite Tres Rios (Brazil). Audiences also had the chance to see the Greek premiere of the film Night Bird Song based on the life of legendary saxophone player Thomas Chapin.

See you in October next year…
