Live a unique experience in the ouzo museum of “Ouzo Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis” in Plomari, Lesvos.

Ouzo of Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis, Greece’s favourite ouzo, famous for its fine quality and unique flavour, invites us to discover the magic “World of Ouzo”, through a unique tour in its distillery in Plomari, Lesvos.

The distillery is located in picturesque Plomari, considered the birthplace of ouzo, in the midst of a magnificent olive grove, a few minutes away from the famous beach of Agios Isidoros.

During the tour, visitors can learn about the history of ouzo, the national drink of Greece and see the production process. They will touch and feel its finest ingredients from the land of Lesvos, like the aniseed of Lisvori, considered the best in the world. They will watch the bottling process and witness a ritual distillation process that takes place in 18 small handmade copper stills. They will smell the unique aroma, taste the fine flavour and discover the secrets of Ouzo of Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis, through tasting sessions. They can also explore a great collection of museum artefacts.

Ouzo of Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis is produced since 1894, in Plomari, Lesvos. The main ingredient is the aniseed grown in a company owned estate in Lisvori. Other ingredients are water from the springs of the river Sedountas and selected seeds from all over Greece. Ouzo Plomari –a product of exceptional quality, distilled 100% – is exported to over 30 countries and has gained domestic and international recognition.

A unique experience for all our senses awaits us in the “World of Ouzo”.
